PLEASE NOTE:

ANY Hazardous Waste found in your bin contents by the landfill site operators will be charged out to you per item accordingly. It is a long standing standard safety policy that we do not "dumpster dive", so if the city charges us additional fees, we then pass those costs on to you. ASBESTOS

Asbestos Disposal

While the city landfill does accept asbestos, 222-BINS does NOT haul this product, nor should you place any loose material-containing-asbestos products in the bin.
You must call the City at 311 during regular business hours at least 48 hours before delivering asbestos. They must know the quantity and anticipated arrival time of the waste. The city will then call you back with instructions.
Do not dispose of the asbestos until you have spoken to the Environmental Services Division.
Asbestos must not be co-mingled with other waste and must be delivered and disposed of in accordance with provincial or federal statutes or regulations.

Thank you for diverting recyclables away form our landfill sites!!!

APPLIANCES & SAVING MONEY

Keep some of that tipping fees cash in your pocket by omitting the following list from your bin. Simply place the appliances in a visible location on level ground as close as possible to the roadway so they don’t tip over. This is very important for CFC-containing appliances. Be mindful not to damage to the pipes that contain the CFC’s. CFC’s are considered ozone depleting substances. The city will remove these appliances within about a week, and if they don’t, the local scrap scavengers are sure to get to them.

TIRES

To keep tires out of landfills, tire producers are now responsible for ensuring used tires are collected and recycled or reused.

*222-BINS is not affiliated with the RPRA organization.

TIRES

If you’re going to put tires in the bin regardless of recommendations, at least place them stacked in the very front of the bin, so when dumped, the landfill personnel can access them relatively safely in order to divert the tires to tire storage area. Bin Here…Bin There has a long standing standard safety policy that we do not “dumpster dive”, nor go rummaging through dumped waste, so if the city charges us additional fees, we then pass those costs on to you. Your cooperation in observing the restrictions are greatly appreciated at all levels of this process. Thank You! ツ

PLEASE DO NOT PLACE ANY TIRES IN OUR BINS.

It has the potential to endanger landfill operators and attendants. Thanks!
